Recently, Australian Embassy Bangkok co-hosted a pre-departure session with the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC), Ministry of Education, for four Thai teachers who have been selected to participate in the Australia – ASEAN BRIDGE School Partnerships 2019 in Australia. On this occasion, Mr Hugh Robilliard, Political and Economic Counsellor, Australian Embassy, gave a congratulatory speech for the teachers.
Along with 32 other teachers from ASEAN countries, 4 Thai teachers will be in Australia for 12 days to participate in a four-day professional learning program and spend eight-day school and homestay immersion with the Australian partner school later this month.
The BRIDGE Program is a DFAT-funded project. It aims to connect Australian teachers, students and school communities with their counterparts in South-East Asia and to build competencies of young Australian, and Southeast Asian teachers through classroom collaboration.
Later this year, partner schools of Thai teachers in Australia will also have an opportunity to do a reciprocal 10-day face-to-face professional learning program in partner schools in Thailand.
We wish all teachers a great success and we look forward to hearing their wonderful experience in Australia when they are back to Thailand!
