On Friday 20th July 2018, AustCham Thailand in collaboration with partner Chambers, AMCHAM, BCCT, CANCHAM, GTCC, SATCC, STCC, NTCC, NZTCC and BeLu-Thai, brought members and guests down to Pattaya and held AustCham’s Eastern Seaboard Sundowners at Hotel Baraquda Pattaya, MGallery By Sofitel Also, there was an ESB Manufacturing Member Briefing on “The Current and Future issues that manufacturing entities in Thailand Face” organized prior to the networking. Thanks to all the panelists; Mr Dennis Horton – Manufacturing General Manager at ARB; Mr Mike Griffis, General Manager (Director), Harrington Industries Thailand; and Mr Praveen Jaduvanshi – President at Wendt Grinding Technologies, as well as our moderator, Mr Frank Holzer, General Manager, Tinfish (Thailand) Ltd. and AustCham Director, for sharing us your experiences and expertise. 12 July– Multi Chambers Lunch on “Eastern Economic Corridor”
On Tuesday 12th July 2018, AustCham Thailand, in collaboration with partner chambers held the Business luncheon with Dr Luxmon Attapich – Deputy Secretary General, – International Cooperation Management, from the Eastern Economic Corridor Office (EECO) at Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit. Thanks to Dr Luxmon for sharing information on updated policies and infrastructure developments of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and revealing the platforms for attracting investment in 2018 as well as the extent to which they can instigate opportunities and benefits for SMEs becoming part of this expansion area. 4 July – Member Briefing “AustCham CEOs briefing on Tourism Development in Thailand”
On Wednesday 4th July 2018, AustCham Thailand, together with AMCHAM, BCCT, & GTCC, and Australian Alumni Thailand, hosted the “AustCham CEOs briefing on Tourism Development in Thailand” with three special guest speakers – H.E. Mr. Paul Robilliard, the Australian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand; Khun Kalin Sarasin, Chairman of Board of Trade of Thailand & Thai Chamber of Commerce; and Mr William Heinecke, CEO & Chairman of Minor International PCL. The speakers shared interesting insights and initiatives into how both the public and private sector could work together to help “Future-proof” the Tourism Industry in Thailand. After the briefing, we held July Sundowners at AVANI Riverside Bangkok Hotel, where our guests enjoyed absorbing ‘Minor’ sensations through a ‘taste’ of various businesses under our corporate sponsor, Minor International Public Company Limited
2-20 July – Interns at AustCham
From 2nd to 20th July, AustCham Thailand hosted students from the University of New South Wales and Thammasart University to conduct a project on the viability of connecting Thai-Australian community groups via a centralised committee. We commend the team on their impressive presentation and look forward to sharing their finding with the Thai-Australian communities over the coming weeks.
